Drawing revisions and ECOs: keep suppliers in sync

Manufacturing notes

Manufacturing mistakes often trace to ambiguous revision state. A clear table of revisions with dates, authors, and a short description of what changed reduces “silent” edits.

When an ECO affects fit or function, call out whether parts in WIP can be reworked or must be scrapped—suppliers need that to schedule and quote fairly.

For CAD-heavy workflows, ensure the PDF drawing matches the released model revision; mismatches between STEP and PDF are a frequent source of scrap.

Email is a poor revision system—use a numbered transmittal or PLM export when possible.
